Joe Fournier's Martial Arts

With students from around North America, Joe Fournier's Martial Arts (www.fournierdojo.com) is a centre of excellence in martial arts learning, self defense training, and above all else, personal development. For nearly 30 years, Sensei Fournier has taught students O'Sensei Richard Kim's Shorinji system and along side our fellow karateka from around the world by way of the Kokusai Butoku Kai , our students enjoy a full, rich program of regular training, summer & winter camps, training seminars and much more.

Sensei Joe Fournier was born in 1954 in the beautiful Niagara Peninsula of Ontario, Canada. He has earned Black Belt rankings in Karate, Kobudo and Jiu Jitsu with Sensei Richard Kim, Hanshi, 10th Dan, along with Black Belt rankings from the Kokusai Butokukai, National Karate Association (N.K.A.) and Budo San Kai. Sensei Fournier has a belt ranking in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a Masters in Martial Sciences which he earned in 1996.

Programs & Class Schedule

Every Journey begins with a single step. One of the most common comments we hear from people asking about the dojo is "I can't do that- I'm not in good enough shape". Training in the Martial Arts is a personal journey and everyone's is different. You don't start off as a marathon runner, or climbing Mount Everest. Likewise, you don't start off as a Black Belt!

New students can join at any time.

All of our dojos offer a free trial program.

You should wear loose-fitting clothes to try a class, but purchase a gi at your earliest opportunity.
