Welcome to Gleisner’s Martial Arts. We have been providing martial arts training in the South Metro for over 17 years. Our academy is affiliated with the American Taekwondo Association, one of the largest Taekwondo organizations in the United States. Under the direction of Sr. Master Janelle Gleisner, a 12 time ATA World Champion, our school is committed to providing the highest quality training and creating a positive learning environment that can benefit individuals of all ages.

As a consistent winner of one of ATA’s top 10 schools in the US, our goal is make a difference in the lives of our students and in the communities we serve. Beyond improving physical fitness or learning self-defense, we empower our students with valuable life skills that help them build the self-confidence they need to become leaders.

Our instructors are highly trained using a curriculum called Songahm Taekwondo that integrates both physical martial arts with the mental skills necessary to succeed in life. We have the confidence and belief that everyone can be successful in any of our programs while having a lot of fun doing so. Our classes are structured to allow families to train together while helping to ensure that all students are able to work at their own pace. As students advance in rank, they move into more challenging classes. This creates an environment that helps bring out the best in each student as they work to achieve their goals.

Programs & Class Schedule

Pre-school (4-6)
Our curriculum starts at the very basic level of teaching young kids about discipline which includes the ability to listen pay attention and to sit still. They learn how to be respectful and courteous to teachers, parents, and peers. They improve both memory and motor skills, improve their hand-eye coordination, and most importantly, build their self-esteem. All of these skills will help them as they prepare for kindergarten and for life.

Juniors (7-12)
Kids at this age gain from the experience of being surrounded by a positive peer group with similar goals and values. They achieve better grades from learning to follow direction, paying attention and participating in group activities. They learn about goal setting and the importance of instilling good habits and routines. They are not only improving their minds but improving their bodies as well with increased muscle strength, flexibility and balance — skills that not only benefit them as a martial artist but complement other sports they may be involved with as well. Lastly, they are building self-confidence and self-discipline. They are learning the importance of making good choices, even when that’s hard to do. They are learning to be leaders, not followers, to stand up to peer pressure and to face challenges head on, knowing that they can be successful at anything they set their minds to.

Adults
Adults at every level of conditioning and fitness find benefits to training in martial arts. Our instructors will treat you with respect and will help you start wherever you are on your path to fitness. Whether you have years of experience or are trying martial arts for the first time, our staff will help you reach your goals.

Self-Defense
Many teens/adults train in order to learn protection skills that could one day save their lives. Having confidence and knowledge goes a long way to help you achieve a successful outcome should the situation ever arise. Although the techniques taught are centuries old, they are applicable to the world we live in today. Our instructors teach skills and present scenarios that are real world. Students gain the confidence to realize their true strength and potential. You’ll be ready to take on any challenge life throws your way — whether physical or mental — with the skills built in our classes.

Fitness
Martial arts can be a fun and enjoyable fitness program. The classes are fast paced and never the same. You are learning many skills and techniques from many different styles of teaching. You’ll enjoy increased flexibility, strength, and endurance. Kicking and punching in a safe organized environment can lead to overall stress relief. You’ll regain balance not only physically but mentally as well. In addition, our class schedule allows you to participate in a fitness program that fits your lifestyle. We understand the demands of a busy schedule and encourage our students to attend as time permits. We offer a variety of class times to allow for flexibility and accommodation no matter how crazy life is.

Self-Confidence/Self Discipline
Many join for the valuable life skills that can be built through practicing martial arts. It has more to do with the improvement of mind, body and spirit, and less to do with fighting. It’s about goal setting and improving leadership skills that not only apply in class, but at school, at work, and in other areas of life as well. It’s a chance to meet new people, engage in new experiences, and enjoy the personal development that our classes have to offer.

Family Fun
Martial arts is a fabulous opportunity for families to find an activity that benefits everyone and can be done together. Classes are designed to encourage family participation. You work alongside your child and everyone goes at their own pace. There is no better way to teach your child about goal setting then to set and achieve one together as a family.
