I was truly amazed when I first walked into Dong's Martial Arts in Morehead City. Their lobby and workout areas are top notch with lots of bells and whistles. The instructors set up a free private intro since my son was a little nervous about beginning. They then let him take class for an entire week to make sure he liked the program.

My son was a little timid and we had trouble getting him to engage in social situations. The other day, a new student came to class and he introduced himself to them and immediately made a freind. That may not seem like a big deal, but the confidence my child has gained in such a short time is amazing!

Never Too Late

It's never too late to earn you black belt. I'm almost thirty. Getting my black belt in a martial art is something that I've always wanted to do and now I've finally found a great place to do it at. The instructors are great, motivating, and encouraging. The classes have an excellent pace and so far I've learned something new every time I've walked in the door. I want to learn more!

Classes are practical here, learning self-defense, not just fighting. I don't think I would enjoy a class that was heavily focused on sparring. I get a good work out here, and I feel that it's a safe environment. When my kids are old enough I'll probably sign them up as well.

I've set my short term goal to get to green belt, but my long term goal is to earn my first degree black belt.

Ever since the new Karate Kid movie came out, my son (8) has been begging me to take martial arts. I had asked around and a friend told me about the new school that opened up on Hwy 70. We went to visit the school and I was amazed first by how nice the facility looked. The reception area is inviting, cozy, and has comfortable furniture and a flat screen television! The instructors, a husband and wife, are very friendly, knowledgeable and seem to work great with kids. My son is sort of shy, but by the end of the free introductory lesson, he was smiling and even asked a few questions! If I weren't so busy, I might even consider signing up for the adult class myself. My son loves it, and I love seeing him excited about something other than soccer. I can watch class or I can get a few things done. Plus the school isn't far from Wal*Mart and other local shopping, so during the hour of class, I can get my errands done. We've only been here for a few weeks, but I'd already recommend Dong's Martial Arts to my friends, and I have!
