Master Annarino and Sensei Winters are excellent teachers. Their leadership is admired by all students. They handle situations in a calm manner, no yelling or negative communication.

It's all about tradition!

I began taking lessons from Grandmaster Annarino when I was 8 years old. At that time, I was a shy and backward little girl that had not found anything that she was passionate about. After just a few classes, I began coming out of my shell and absolutely fell in love with this sport. Not only was this sport fun, but it brought out confidence in me that I never knew I had. I was also succeeding in tournaments and getting better grades in school. Being a part of this school has had a lot to do with who I am today. It takes hard work and discipline to succeed in anything in life. I think that I was fortunate to be a part of this wonderful martial arts tradition early in my life because I have made life long friends along the way. I visited the dojo last week, and was welcomed with open arms. It made me feel great knowing that these fine people still care. I will be starting back this week. I miss the sport and family so much! If you are willing to put in time and effort, it will be worth it!

Over a year ago I began lessons at Annarino's Martial Arts. I was not attending when there was conflict with other instructors. Fortunately, these instructors have been fired and stripped of their black belts. There are excellent instructors at Annarino's now. Before they were my teammates, now they are my family.

Best Martial Arts Experience I have ever had

When I first started class here I was a little worried. The main instructor was not Grand Master Annarino and he came off, at least to me, as hostile. The style was very rigid and if not done exactly the way it was taught I felt belittled. I am ex-military with a background in different fighting techniques even before my military experience. Since Grand Master has taken control of the class with assistance from his great Black Belt instructors I have found that even though I am a yellow belt my experience and insight has not only been listened to but incorporated and even improved for all the class. I just fought in nationals and I moved up to the Black Belt division. I placed 3rd in Kumite (Fighting)! Without Grand Master Annarino’s style of teaching and learning, not just mirroring an instructors exact movements, I would not have even had the confidence to move up to that division when no else was available in my own. If you want a fluid experience which is open to the way you personally can fight and learn there’s no better place than George Annarino's.

The one post said that the instructors don't know what they are doing ! Don't worry, they are no longer at this school, they started a "Gym Class" in another location. I hear rumors that a lot of the "Old Gang" are coming back to help make it what it used to be. FYI- Not all kata but some real good fighting also.

As many in central Ohio have started their Martial Arts journey, I too began at Annarino's.This man has dedicated his entire life to teaching Martial Arts. I have gone on to teach on my own and. George and I put on one of the first cage fights in Ohio and I have gone on to reff UFC,Bellator,Strikeforce,WEC, and many more of the elite shows.Shame on any of you to use "sham " or any other disrespectful things about this organization ! To the sissy punk and the tramp that started this mess, enjoy your F'd up life. Of course if you read this you will know who I am. (FYI- T.P. doesn't just stand for "Toilet Paper".)Don't like it, come see me...

You can not argue with tradition....this school has stood the test of time and is still around after many others have opened and closed their doors...the reason is because this is the best around. We have the best competitors the best instructors and the most knowledge....if you want to learn tradition confidence and build yourself up physically mentally and emotionally...stop on down...

This school is an absolute sham....the instructors have no idea of what they are doing....I honestly think they make up half the stuff the "teach". The instructors have no clue...very little experience...and have no honor or charchter....so If you want you or your children to constantly be belittled...have their self-esteem and self- worth destroyed and waste your money...then by all means visit this so called dojo....there are a couple of other karate schools in newark....any one of them would be better....I think I leaned more in my high school gym class than here...

The instruction is top notch, the years of experience the instructors have between them is second to none. Great physical and mental workouts. If you want to learn martial arts the traditional way, and build your self-esteem, and character, and respect for yourself and others. There is no better school in town or the county.

My son has taken both private lessons and group lessons from Grand Master Annarino. He is very a patient and caring individual. He will take all the time necessary to make sure your child fully understands the lesson. He is very well respected in the community and with fellow martial artists. He has taught several students that have competed in world championships and competed internationally. I highly recommend this school.

Grand Master Annarino is the best. He and the other senseis are very patient with each student and give each and every one the personal attention that he or she needs. The friends I have made in this dojo are more than just friends I work out with, they have become my second family and that helps tremendously during your journey through martial arts.

If you want to learn from a true Master this is the place. Just about everyone in the Newark area, even those who have gone on to open their own separate schools, owe their beginnings to Grand Master Annarino, he has taught just about all of them at one time or another!
