Still Training

My daughter started training about 6 years ago and is still training on an almost daily basis, she just love going to class. My younger son has started training and he also loves it. Master Heller and ths staff are just great with the students. The classes are very disciplined but they also have fun. The instructors have dealt with personal issues with students and have shown they know much about life outside of karate. There are seven Master instructors (above 4th degree) and at least eight 3rd degree instructors and they all are great with the kids. Recently, five teenage girls tested in Pittsburgh in front of Grandmaster CS Kim and the group was recognized for their outstanding knowledge and effort. My children train four classes a week, year round and the monthly rate is only $45 for both. I know Master Heller was a Marine in Viet Nam and served in combat and he has been a police officer for more than 30 years. Hi partner in life Dawn has been training and teaching for a long time too and she is so great with the children, I know because my 13 year old is very close and confides with her. If you want your children to learn from good people at a great school, this is it.

Excellent school! My daughter has been involved for 4 years and it has helped her immensely. She is confident, disciplined, respectful as well as feeling as if she belongs. The instructors have the best interest of the students at heart and help them succeed in their goals. They do not push them on to the next level but are there 100% for them to attain the goals the students want to achieve. Wonderful group of people all around. I would highly recommend this school.

An excellent place for kids to learn Martial Arts.

Prior to my son enrolling in this program, he was very timid-lacking self confidence. Master Heller, Dawn, and the entire staff are excellent instructors, and really take their time with the kids to be sure that the kids understand what they are learning. The DAN's that assist with the teaching are all very knowledgeable, patient, and assist the kids with the whole process of learning their moves as well as learning the Korean language. In the past year my son has become a much stronger person both physically, and emotionally, and we owe it all to the staff of Altoona Tang Soo Do. I would reccomend this place to anyone in search of a school for Martial Arts.

My daughter started with Master Heller a few months ago and just loves the training. She is only 8 years old and I can see changes in her confidence and discipline already. Master Heller and his staff are great with children. I was so proud of my daughter at the last promotion test.

Great School and staff

Master Heller (5th Dan) and his staff do a great job instructing both children and adults. There are usually a minimum of five senior black belts teaching in children's class and ten to fifteen black belts in adult class. He and his wife (3rd Dan) are absolutely great with the children. Master Heller combines all his real life experiences and presents a great program. He served two combat tours as a US Marine in Viet Nam and has been a police officer and S.W.A.T. officer for more than 37 years. He trains with Master Joe Goss and Grandmaster Chun Sik Kim. The children love going to class.
